Conditions & Concerns I Treat

I work with 2 types of patients – the first are those with a specific medical skin condition like acne (teen or adult acne), eczema or rosacea.

The second group don’t have a medical skin condition but have concerns such as fine lines/ wrinkles, enlarged pores, sun damage, ageing skin, dull skin etc, or simply want to do the best for their skin, so it is as healthy and naturally beautiful as possible, now and in the future.

Medical Skin Conditions

I provide expert-led personalised and integrated treatment plans for the following conditions

Teen Acne

Acne is a very common skin disease that affects the majority of teenagers, from mild to severe cases.

Acne occurs when your hair follicles become blocked with dead skin cells and oil from your sebaceous glands. In our teens, puberty and hormones switches on our sebaceous glands in the t-zone of the face, which is where acne tends to occur

There are different types of spots caused by acne so it can look different on everyone.

It is possible with the right approach to transform your skin and change your life.

Adult Acne

Acne occurs in adults far more frequently than people realise, and the causes can be complex but usually has an inflammatory response, with many internal factors contributing to the condition.

The impact of acne in adulthood can be enormous.

When women enter adulthood, the effect of our hormones switches acne to localise more to lower cheeks and chin, especially in the week before our period. Other factors like stress, diet and your beauty habits can have a negative impact.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a common, yet distressing condition, typically occurring between the ages of 25-65. Cases can be relatively mild all the way through to severe. It often affects people with fair skin and light-coloured eyes but it can also affect darker skin tones but diagnosing it is often more challenging. There are 4 different types of rosacea.

Type 1 is known as erythematotelangiectatic rosacea or ETR and this is characterized by a prolonged flush. Dilated capillaries or telangiectasia are also seen, leading to reddening of the skin.

Type 2 is called papulopustular rosacea – it’s the form that gets mixed up with acne because you see red spots (papules) and white-headed spots (pustules) typically in the centre of the face, over the cheeks nose and chin.

Type 3 is called phymatous rosacea, and is most commonly seen in men and is characterized by firm, thickened areas overlying the redness zone, most commonly on the nose, because the inflammatory process progresses to fibrosis.

Lastly there is ocular rosacea. Sore and red eyes are a common finding in many patients and may be associated with skin changes or may occur in isolation.

It’s common for these sub-types to overlap, and most  individuals with rosacea whatever the sub-type have sensitive skin (stinging and burning) due to skin barrier dysfunction.

Many things trigger rosace. Cold weather can aggravate the barrier dysfunction whilst UV exposure in summer can also create problems.

Your diet also has an impact – alcohol (especially histamine releasing red wine ), hot caffeinated drinks and spicy foods may all trigger a flush.

Each Peel treatment is skilfully tailor-made and curated for each client in order to achieve the best possible pigmentation, ageing or acne results. Using peeling systems supported by research and results from clinical trials, these peels help to brighten skin by gently encouraging surface cells to be removed and stimulating collagen remodelling. The peel is personalised to your skin and its specific needs through customised ingredients, boosters and serums.

The controlled nature of these peels ensures that surface trauma and downtime is minimised whilst boosting activity deep in the skin layers to promote improved structure and function and help correct skin concerns. The treatment will encourage healthy exfoliation and remodelling and promote even skin tone, colour and texture, resulting in healthy, glowing skin.

Advanced Bespoke Micro-needling Treatment

£175

15% off a series of 3

Micro-needling, also known as “collagen induction therapy” (CIT), is a minimally invasive, non-surgical and highly effective procedure for skin rejuvenation and regeneration.  My exclusive treatment combines medical grade micro-needling to stimulate the skin’s own collagen production, with deep application of personalised skin-rejuvenation ingredients and topicals. Each super fine needle creates a channel to the dermis at a depth suited to your specific skin and concern, without the removal of any healthy surface layers so there is hardly any discomfort or downtime. Fibroblasts and growth factors are stimulated to fill these channels with new collagen and elastin.  New capillaries are also formed leading to greater oxygen and nutrient absorption for a brighter complexion.  In addition, serums and actives personalised to your skin needs are added to enable penetration to the deeper layers of skin. A range of vitamins, botanicals and growth factors to activate cell renewal and optimise skin function are made up into your bespoke blend and expertly worked into your treatment. A course of 3- 6 treatments can dramatically lift, smooth, plump, rejuvenate and regenerate the skin with improved skin texture, firmness and pigmentation.

Botulinum toxin is an FDA-approved treatment for fine lines and wrinkles and is extremely safe and effective in relaxing and easing specific over-contracted muscles that cause the surface of the skin to look tired or stressed. The treatment works by strategically balancing overactive muscles so that facial wrinkles and lines become less noticeable and facial symmetry and proportion are improved. Patients can lift eyebrows, achieve a smoother forehead or smooth frown lines or crow’s feet. Results are visible within four to 10 days and can last for three to six months.
